Jordan Sakho selected the top Congolese playing abroad in last week's games

We bring you last week's top performances from Congolese who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

Jordan Sakho

   #1. This week's number one is an international center Jordan Sakho (209-97, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in Basketball Champions League). He contributed to an easy victory against the leader Brindisi (1-1) crushing them 93-71 in the Basketball Champions League in Wednesday night's game. Sakho scored 6 points in only 14 minutes on the court. It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams in group H. San Pablo Inmobiliaria Miraflores Burgos (1-1) is placed second in group H. There are only four games left until the end of the Basketball Champions League Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Sakho averages: 7.5ppg, 3.5rpg, 2FGP: 41.7% and FT: 83.3% in two games he played so far. He is currently a member of the DR Congolese senior national team.

Omari Gudul

   #2. Second place goes to an international forward Omari Gudul (206-94, agency: Octagon Europe, college: Angelo St., currently plays in Poland). Gudul could not help Spojnia (0-3) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite his very good performance Spojnia was defeated 108-95 on the road by the much lower-ranked Twarde Pierniki (#11). Gudul recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 4 assists. It's Gudul's first season with the team. Gudul's overall stats this year are: 7.1ppg, 5.3rpg, 2FGP: 49.3%, 3FGP: 25.0%. He is in the roster of the DR Congolese senior national team.

Christian Eyenga

   #3. The DR Congolese player who performed third best last week abroad was an international small forward Christian Eyenga (201-89, currently plays in Spain). Eyenga was not able to help Baloncesto Fuenlabrada in their last game. Despite his good performance his team was edged 84-81 in Murcia by the much lower-ranked (#8) UCAM. Eyenga scored 13 points and added 4 passes in 34 minutes. Eyenga is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Baloncesto Fuenlabrada's roster. This season his overall stats are: 8.0ppg, 3.6rpg, 2.0apg, 1.2bpg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 58.9%(33-56) and FT: 56.5% in 11 games. Eyenga is also a member of the DR Congolese senior national team.

Mathieu Kamba

   #4. Guard Mathieu Kamba (196-95, agency: Dynamics Global Management, college: Cent Arkansas, currently plays in Spain) was the major contributor in Melilla's victory against the second-ranked Leche Rio Breogan (2-1) 74-67 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Friday night's game. Kamba scored 12 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Melilla Baloncesto (2-4) is placed sixth in Group A. Kamba has relatively good stats this season: 12.8ppg, 2.8rpg and 1.2spg. He has a dual citizenship: DR Congolese and Canadian. Kamba is also DR Congolese national team player.

   #1. Brandon Kuba (198-F-98, currently plays in Switzerland) was the major contributor in Geneve's victory against one of league's weakest teams Nyon (0-3) crushing them 91-44 in the Swiss SBL in Saturday night's game. He scored 16 points. Lions de Geneve (6-0) is placed first in the SBL. So far his team won all six games in the Regular Season. Kuba's total stats this season are: 7.8ppg, 3.6rpg, 1.4apg and 1.4bpg. He has a dual citizenship: DR Congolese and Swiss.

   #2. Experienced Charles Kahudi (199-SF-86, currently plays in Euroleague). Kahudi could not help ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (1-6) to beat ALBA Berlin (2-6). He scored 6 points in only 12 minutes. The bottom-ranked ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket was edged 76-75 on the road by the higher-ranked (#15) ALBA Berlin. It was ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket's third consecutive loss in a row. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Kahudi has been at the team for six years. This season Kahudi's total stats are: 9.9ppg and 3.3rpg in seven games he played so far. He is another player who holds two passports: DR Congolese and French.

   #3. Nicola Akele (203-F-95, college: URI, currently plays in Italy) contributed to Treviso's victory against the fourth-ranked Cantu (1-5) 89-82 in the Italian Serie A on Wednesday night. Akele scored 6 points. De Longhi Treviso Basket 2012 (3-3) is placed second in Group C. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Akele's total stats this year are: 9.7ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.3apg. He has both DR Congolese and Italian nationalities.

   #4. Yannick Nzosa (206-F-3, currently plays in EuroCup) managed to help Unicaja Malaga in a victory against the third-ranked Buducnost (4-3) crushing them 90-66 in the Eurocup in Wednesday night's game. Nzosa scored only 2 points in 6 minutes on the court. Unicaja Malaga (6-2) is placed first in group B. There are only two games left until the end of the Eurocup Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Nzosa's total stats are: 3.1ppg and 2.4rpg in eight games.

   #5. Viny Okouo (215-C-97, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help Gipuzkoa in their game against Joventut (7-3) in the Spanish Liga Endesa. He scored only 4 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. The bottom-ranked Gipuzkoa was crushed 99-68 at home by the much higher-ranked Joventut (#6). It was Gipuzkoa's seventh consecutive loss in a row. Okouo's total stats this season are: 7.3ppg and 4.8rpg.

   #6. Kevin Tumba (206-C/F-91, currently plays in Greece) was not able to secure a victory for Kolossos HH in their game against Panathinaikos in the Greek A1. He scored only 4 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 21 minutes. His team was crushed by 23 points 90-67. This year Tumba's total stats are: 2.0ppg, 5.2rpg and 1.2bpg in five games. He also holds two passports: DR Congolese and Belgian.

   #7. David Efambe (201-F-1, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Ilerdauto Nissan Pardinyes Lleida in their game against Villarrobledo in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division). He recorded 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 15 minutes. His team lost 67-74. This year Efambe's total stats are: 4.6ppg and 2.8rpg in five games.

   #8. Joel Kanyinda (203-PF-1, currently plays in Spain) contributed to Ponferrada's victory against the tenth-ranked Alcobendas 79-68 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) on Saturday night. He recorded 10 points. Kanyinda's total stats this season are: 7.0ppg and 6.2rpg.
